Happy Valentine's Day

Each year on 14th February, flowers , gift and candy are exchanged between loved ones. It's a day to commemorate St Valentine who has been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were tortured. This is one of the stories that suggest the origin of Valentine's Day. Other stories suggest he fell in love with a young girl , who may have been his jailor's daughter. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote a note to this girl , which he signed 'From your valentine'. Regardless the truthfulness of the stories, Valentine's Day is a day that filled with love and romance.

You can really feel that love is all around. Looking at those couples walking hand in hand, smiling at each other really warm the cockles of my heart. Although i was alone walking on the street, my heart is contented. The smell of love in the air really soothe my empty heart.

Love bring happiness, warmth, enargy and fulfilment. Life is wonderful with love as a conerstone. Perhaps, it's time for me to spread my wings and find love again. Cupid, i will find you!

We went to SE1, a nightclub near London Dungeon. The music played reminds me of Poppy in Malaysia (a night club). However, it's still not good enough! Some of the music really made me doze off!!!! I will not go there again! The first and last time.

My first ever Chinese New Year in London

Today is Chinese New Year Eve. i am a wee bit sorrowful as my family is not here. This is the first ever new year without being with my dearest family.

The chinese new year ambience is not that great. There isn't any chinese new year song lingering, no exaggerated new year decorations and no yummy new year cookies!!!

Well...i cant complain as i choose to come here and i will shut up from now on.

CJ, MK and i went to china town for our reunion dinner. It was pretty happening in chinatown with lot of people.

In order to celebrate chinese new year, we had a chinese new year feast. Look what we had ordered.

The food in this restaurant is soooooo yummy! The chef is from Malaysia! I felt like home when i tasted the dishes!!!! This is the most sumptuous chinese meal that we had so far. How much did we pay for that? 21 quid per person! Wow!!! Expensive huh?

We stuffed ourselves to the maximum and could hardly move after the dinner!

It's nearly 4 months since i came to London. It's time to do a recap for the most hated and loved things in London.

1. Many hot chicks and hot bloke (apparently, i am one of them :) )

2. Beautiful and prevalent parks and gardens

3. Superb nightlife that makes you go wild

4. Freedom of dressing ( at least no one will stare at you)

5. Freedom of speech

6. Laid back lifestyle

7. Trustworthy cops

8. Shopping paradise

9. I earn sterling pounds

10. Most importantly, i won't get annoyed or pissed off by certain stupid m**** p*gs!

We have known each others for 10 years! It's because of Huey Voon that brought us together! I still remember when i just got my driving license, i drove your guys around! I think our favourite place at that time was Giant. Hehe!

Do you guys still remember that we were soo obsessed with David Beckham before? We were so heart broken when he tied the knot with b****y Victoria? Do you still remember how carried away we were whenever we sing K in Red Box? Especially with Jay Chow's songs!!! Viva Jay Chow!! Do you still remember how joyful and noisy we were whenever we gathered together? I guess our high pitched voice and laughs did piss some people off! Who cares!!!

10 years are just in the blink of an eye. We age and we grow. However, the only thing that remain unaltered is our friendship! No matter where i am, i will always keep a special room for you guys in my heart.

I met them randomly. Once upon a time, when Feiyong came back from Australia for summer break, she worked as a stall assistant in selling pet food. WHAT? Yes...i sold pet food before! Celine and Yi Bing were selling watches and bags respectively next to my stall. I only knew them for 5 years. We lost touch completely after i went back to Australia to continue my study.

Faith is unbelievable. It brought us back once again.

Yi Bing, thanks for counselling me when i was in the dark. My pain and grief were respited whenever i talked to you. You are like an elder, giving me support and care. Your optimistics and toughness really earn my respect! I will learn it from you!

Celine, you just like my little sister. You seem to be bubbly all the times, but you have your own vulnerability. It will only happen, if you believe.

My friendship with Swee Ho is the shortest. I think it's only 3 years. She was my ex colleague.

She is very slim and thin. However, her toughness and will are something that make her shine. My life in the previous firm would be spiritless without her listening to all my complaints and troubles. Thank you so much Swee Ho!

You shower me with all your care when my world seemed to fall apart. You back me up for every decision i make. Thank you.

I am not the best. However, i have the best family and friends who make me believe that i can be the best. My world shines because of you. Your care, love and support makes me the best and blessed person ever.

Sorry guys i should have posted this long time ago. Hehe...

I always tell you that i am blessed and it's time to show you the people who make me blessed.

Let's kick off with my family.

This is Mr Kok, the oldest folk in the family.

My dad is a very funny yet approachable father. His own sense of humour can make you laugh non stop! He is the oldest yet powerless in the family as he is the minority. He is always bullied by Mrs Kok and Miss KoK x 2 (well it includes me as well). Hehehe..

My dad is a happy go lucky person. He doesn't seem to have much trouble as his motto is 'don't worry be happy!

My mum is a good cook. She can cook beautiful chinese food. Everyone gives her thumbs up after tasting her food. Oh my god....i am drooling now!

My mum is an emotional and sensitive person. She weeps when she watches her favourite series drama. She always concern about my love relationship. To be frank, she is afraid that i will be single. Do you think it's possible? :)

My sister is a blunt and direct person. She says whatever is on her mind! Don't you dare to piss her off! She will show your her disdainful face!

She is a happy go lucky person as well. Apparently, she has inherited my dad's trait. She takes each day as it comes and is happy for what she is doing.

That's my family! These are the three persons that bring wamth, care, love and support.

In part 2, i will introduce my best friends to you!

Well..if you wonder what the title means. It means I love Mexican Food!

Yeah, i went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner with MK and CJ this evening! The name of the restaurant is Chiquito.

We arrived the restaurant at 7:30pm and guess what? We only got a table after 45 minutes!! My godness! There were hive of people and you need to be called by them for a table.

Luckily we ordered a nachos to feed our stomache as our main course took almost 30 mins to be served!!!

Self-doubt

A sense of self doubt was overwhelming today.

I wonder if i can really do things in an efficient and orderly manner.

Well...i guess i just need some time to bolster my confidence.

Who doesn't have a vulnerable moment when negative feelings start creeping up and eroding your ego and self assurance? Sometimes, the feelings are so profound which can't be dispelled. Perhaps,the degree of faith in oneself plays a pivotal part in resisting it.

You might stumble along the way, just remember to continue the journey as the ending will come to fruition if you believe.
